  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce

  • 1/2 onion thinly sliced
  • tomato sliced
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Salt
  • pepper

Preparation
  1. Form the ground beef into four equal patties and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add onion slices and cook until caramelized and softened; set aside.
Cooking
  1. Place burger patties in the hot skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, adjusting time for desired doneness.
  2. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with cheddar cheese and cover the pan to help it melt.
  3. Lightly toast the burger buns.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the burgers by spreading BBQ sauce on the bottom bun, adding lettuce, then the cheeseburger patty, bacon, caramelized onions, and a tomato slice; top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.

Notes
