  • 1 pound large, raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • large lemon zest and juice separated
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Pat the peeled and deveined shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Add shrimp to the hot pan and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink; remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic to the pan, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in lemon zest and smoked paprika, cooking for 15 seconds to bloom the flavors.
  6. Deglaze the pan with lemon juice, scraping up browned bits, then stir in butter until melted and the sauce slightly thickens.
  7. Return the cooked shrimp to the pan and gently toss to coat with the lemon garlic butter sauce.
  8. Remove from heat, stir in fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra lemon flavor, you can add a few thin lemon slices to the pan when building the sauce. Serve this with a side of rice or crusty bread to soak up all the delicious sauce!
