Ingredients
  

Syrup
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or to taste
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2-3 whole cloves
  • nutmeg Pinch
Coffee
  • 1 cup brewed coffee strong, chilled
Garnish & Assembly
  • Ice
  • Milk or cream optional
  • Cinnamon stick or apple slice for garnish

Method
 

Make the Syrup
  1. Combine apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, and nutmeg in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Reduce heat and gently simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly reduced and fragrant, then cool completely and strain if desired.
Assemble
  1. Fill a tall glass with ice and add 2-3 tablespoons of the cooled spiced apple syrup, adjusting to your sweetness preference.
  2. Pour in the chilled coffee.
Finish
  1. Top with milk or cream if using, stir gently, and garnish with a cinnamon stick or apple slice.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a splash of vanilla extract to the syrup while it's simmering. You can also make a larger batch of the syrup and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
