Make the Syrup
- Combine apple cider, brown sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, and nutmeg in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat and gently simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly reduced and fragrant, then cool completely and strain if desired.
Assemble
- Fill a tall glass with ice and add 2-3 tablespoons of the cooled spiced apple syrup, adjusting to your sweetness preference.
- Pour in the chilled coffee.
Finish
- Top with milk or cream if using, stir gently, and garnish with a cinnamon stick or apple slice.
Notes
For an extra kick, add a splash of vanilla extract to the syrup while it's simmering. You can also make a larger batch of the syrup and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week.
