Preparation
- Pat the chicken dry and slice breasts in half horizontally to create thinner cutlets.
- Whisk together BBQ sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a medium bowl until well combined.
Marinating & Baking
- Add chicken to the marinade, ensuring it's thoroughly coated, then marinate for at least 15-20 minutes, or up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Arrange chicken in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-30 minutes, until cooked through and an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) is reached.
Finishing Touches & Serving
- Brush with extra BBQ sauce during the last 5-10 minutes of baking for a glaze, optionally broiling for 1-2 minutes for a sticky char.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing or serving.
Notes
For best results, allow the chicken to marinate for a longer period. Adjust the amount of brown sugar and salt according to your preference.
