  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch nutmeg (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Equipment

  • microwave-safe bowl

Method

Prepare the Apples
  1. For the microwave method, combine diced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar in a microwave-safe bowl, then microwave on high for 45-60 seconds until softened, stirring halfway.
  2. For the stovetop method, melt butter in a pan, then add apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
Assemble the Cups
  1. Sprinkle half of the graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of each dessert cup or ramekin.
  2. Spoon the warm, prepared apples over the graham cracker crumbs.
  3. Drizzle a generous amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
Serve
  1. Optionally, top with whipped cream or ice cream, and then serve immediately.

Notes

You can adjust the amount of cinnamon and nutmeg to your personal preference. For a richer flavor, consider using homemade caramel sauce. These cups are best served warm, but can also be enjoyed chilled.
