Prepare the Apples
- For the microwave method, combine diced apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar in a microwave-safe bowl, then microwave on high for 45-60 seconds until softened, stirring halfway.
- For the stovetop method, melt butter in a pan, then add apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, and brown sugar, sautéing for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
Assemble the Cups
- Sprinkle half of the graham cracker crumbs into the bottom of each dessert cup or ramekin.
- Spoon the warm, prepared apples over the graham cracker crumbs.
- Drizzle a generous amount of caramel sauce over the apples.
Serve
- Optionally, top with whipped cream or ice cream, and then serve immediately.
Notes
You can adjust the amount of cinnamon and nutmeg to your personal preference. For a richer flavor, consider using homemade caramel sauce. These cups are best served warm, but can also be enjoyed chilled.
