Cooking Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook your choice of ground beef or turkey over medium-high heat until it is fully browned and no pink remains.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet, then stir in the taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water, simmering for 5-7 minutes until the liquid evaporates and the meat is well-coated.
- Spread a single layer of tortilla chips on a large baking sheet.
- Evenly spoon the seasoned ground meat over the chip layer and then generously sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- For the oven, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the chips are slightly toasted; for microwave, heat on high for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melted, being careful not to overcook.
- Carefully remove the nachos from the oven or microwave and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
For an extra kick, add some sliced jalapeños before baking, or serve with a dollop of sour cream and salsa for a complete nacho experience. You can also customize by adding black beans or corn for more texture and flavor.
