Cooking Instructions
- Place a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat, no oil is needed for lean ground turkey on a non-stick pan.
- Once the pan is hot, add the ground turkey.
- Using a wooden spoon or spatula, immediately start breaking up the turkey into smaller pieces, and continue to stir and break up the turkey as it cooks.
- Cook for 7-10 minutes, or until the turkey is completely browned and cooked through, ensuring no pink remains.
- If using a higher-fat ground turkey, carefully tilt the pan and drain off any excess rendered fat.
- Once cooked, stir in the optional salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and chili powder to taste.
- Serve immediately as a base for bowls, wraps, or with steamed vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder with the other spices. This recipe is also great for meal prepping; cook a larger batch and store it in the refrigerator for quick meals throughout the week.
