  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional, for seasoning)
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper (optional, for seasoning)

Equipment

  • wooden spoon or spatula

Method

Cooking Instructions
  1. Place a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat, no oil is needed for lean ground turkey on a non-stick pan.
  2. Once the pan is hot, add the ground turkey.
  3. Using a wooden spoon or spatula, immediately start breaking up the turkey into smaller pieces, and continue to stir and break up the turkey as it cooks.
  4. Cook for 7-10 minutes, or until the turkey is completely browned and cooked through, ensuring no pink remains.
  5. If using a higher-fat ground turkey, carefully tilt the pan and drain off any excess rendered fat.
  6. Once cooked, stir in the optional salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and chili powder to taste.
  7. Serve immediately as a base for bowls, wraps, or with steamed vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of garlic powder or onion powder with the other spices. This recipe is also great for meal prepping; cook a larger batch and store it in the refrigerator for quick meals throughout the week.
