Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and place the unbaked pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate.
Cooking the Filling
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is browned and the onion is softened, then drain excess grease.
- Stir in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper, cooking for another minute, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Assembling the Pie
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, mayonnaise, eggs, and flour until smooth.
- Add 3/4 cup of cheddar cheese and all of the Monterey Jack cheese to the beef mixture, then pour in the milk-egg mixture and stir gently until combined.
- Spoon the cheeseburger filling evenly into the unbaked pie crust and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
Baking and Serving
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set, and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the pie cool for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For an extra kick, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the beef mixture. If desired, you can prepare the beef and onion mixture a day in advance to save time on busy weeknights.
