Cooking Steps
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it begins to foam.
- Add half of the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until opaque; remove to a plate.
- Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet, then cook the rest of the shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side; add to the plate.
- Reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth or white wine, red pepper flakes (if using), and sugar/honey; simmer gently, scraping the pan.
- Return all shrimp to the skillet, squeeze in lemon juice, and toss to coat; cook for 30 seconds to heat through.
- Remove from heat, stir in fresh parsley and chives, and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider marinating the shrimp for 15-20 minutes before cooking. Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preferred spice level. Serve with crusty bread or over pasta/rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
