Ingredients
  

Nachos
  • 1 bag sturdy, restaurant-style tortilla chips (13 oz)
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack or Mexican blend cheese (freshly shredded for best melt)
  • 1 lb ground beef cooked and seasoned (e.g., with taco seasoning, salt, and pepper)
  • 1/2 cup pickled or freshly sliced jalapeños

  • salsa for serving
  • fresh cilantro chopped and for serving
  • guacamole or sliced avocado for serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your desired toppings, such as slicing jalapeños and chopping cilantro.
  2. Cook and season the ground beef, then drain any excess fat.
Assemble & Bake
  1. Spread half of the tortilla chips on a large baking sheet in a single layer.
  2. Sprinkle one-third of the cheese, half of the seasoned ground beef, and half of the jalapeños over the chips.
  3. Add the remaining tortilla chips in another even layer, then top with the remaining cheese, ground beef, and jalapeños.
  4. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chips are lightly toasted; watch carefully to prevent burning.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute or two, then garnish generously with sour cream, salsa, fresh cilantro, and guacamole or sliced avocado.
  2. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of chili powder or cumin to the ground beef while seasoning. If you prefer less heat, reduce the amount of jalapeños or omit them entirely.
