  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, tough ends trimmed
  • salt and black pepper Pinch for asparagus
Garnish (Optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Large baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Medium bowl
  • Small bowl

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine steak with 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, ½ tsp smoked paprika, ¼ tsp black pepper, and ½ tsp salt; toss to coat evenly.
  3. In a separate bowl, toss asparagus with 1 tbsp olive oil, ½ tsp garlic powder, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of black pepper.
Cooking
  1. Spread the seasoned steak and asparagus in a single layer on separate halves of the prepared baking sheet, ensuring neither is overcrowded.
  2. Roast for 10-15 minutes, or until steak reaches the desired doneness and asparagus is tender-crisp. Gently shake the pan or flip steak bites halfway through cooking.
Serving
  1. Remove from oven, garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For best results, do not overcrowd the baking sheet to ensure even cooking and browning. Adjust seasoning to taste.
