Cooking Steps
- Brown the ground beef in a large, oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat, then drain any excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, then stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in the rinsed rice, beef broth, undrained diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover tightly, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- If using, stir in frozen peas or corn during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Remove from heat, let rest covered for 5 minutes to steam the rice, then fluff with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, use a heavy-bottomed skillet to prevent sticking. Adjust seasonings to your preference. This dish is great for meal prep!
