Ingredients

Cheese Ball
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Decoration and Serving
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, toasted for coating
  • 1/4 cup pomegranate arils for decoration
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for decoration
  • Crackers and crudités for serving

Equipment

  • Medium bowl
  • Serving platter

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, green onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined and smooth.
  2. Cover the cheese mixture and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
Assembly
  1. On a flat surface or serving platter, shape the chilled cheese mixture into a conical "pinecone" form.
  2. Gently press the finely chopped toasted pecans onto the entire surface of the cheese cone, overlapping slightly from bottom to top to create a textured "pinecone" effect.
  3. Decorate the "pinecone" tree with fresh pomegranate arils, nestling them among the pecans.
  4. Insert small sprigs of fresh rosemary around the base and sides to complete the Christmas tree look.
Serving
  1. Serve immediately with a variety of crackers and crudités for dipping.

Notes

For best results, allow the cream cheese to soften at room temperature before mixing. You can prepare the cheese ball a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator before decorating and serving.
