Prepare Crostini
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet, drizzle with 2 tablespoons olive oil, and bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
Cook Mushrooms
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced mushrooms and cook for 8-10 minutes until browned and their liquid has been released.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Pour in balsamic vinegar and maple syrup, then simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce reduces and thickens, coating the mushrooms.
- Mix in the chopped fresh thyme leaves and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Assemble and Serve
- Spoon a generous amount of the balsamic glazed mushrooms onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For an extra touch, you can rub a cut garlic clove over the toasted baguette slices before adding the mushroom topping.
