Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined, tails on or off
  • 4-6 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1/2 fresh lemon for juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • red pepper flakes Pinch (optional)

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Paper Towels

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Peel and devein the shrimp, then rinse and pat them very dry. Season lightly with salt and pepper for a good sear.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30-60 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Avoid overcrowding and overcooking the shrimp.
  4. Pour in white wine or chicken broth and simmer for 30 seconds, scraping up any browned bits for added flavor.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in butter until melted, then squeeze in lemon juice and toss gently to coat the shrimp. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Transfer to a serving dish, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Serving Suggestion: This garlic shrimp is excellent served over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce. A simple green salad makes a great side dish.
