Ingredients

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup Unsalted Butter softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown Sugar packed
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups Oreo Cookies crushed into delightful chunks (about 15-18 cookies)
  • 1 cup Valentine’s Day M&M’s (red, pink, and white candies)

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat
  • Large bowl
  • Electric mixer
  • Medium bowl
  • Whisk
  • Wire rack

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy (2-3 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, incorporating each fully before adding the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and Valentine’s Day M&M’s until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. For best results, cover and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours, to prevent spreading.
  8. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
  9. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chilling the dough is an optional but highly recommended step for better cookie texture and to prevent excessive spreading.
