- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and arrange the frozen tater tots in a single layer on a large baking sheet for maximum crispiness.
- Bake the tots for 20-25 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are deeply golden brown and very crispy.
- While the tots bake, prepare your toppings; cook and season ground meat, warm shredded chicken, and rinse/drain black beans.
- Remove the crispy tots from the oven and arrange them in a slightly overlapping layer on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle half of the cheese over the tots, then add your cooked meat or beans, followed by the remaining cheese and optional jalapeños.
- Return the baking sheet to the oven for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
- Carefully remove from the oven and dollop generously with sour cream or Greek yogurt; scatter with cilantro, diced tomatoes, red onion, and any optional toppings like avocado or salsa, then serve immediately.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce. You can easily customize the toppings with your favorite nacho ingredients like corn, olives, or different cheeses.
