Ingredients

Flatbreads
  • 3 individual flatbreads
  • naan bread, pita bread, or pre-made pizza crusts work well
Honey-Garlic Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or more, to taste, for extra heat
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Cheeses
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese optional, but adds a lovely tang
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup bell peppers (any color), thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
  • red pepper flakes optional, for extra heat

Equipment

  • oven
  • pizza stone
  • small saucepan
  • baking sheet

Method

Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C); if using a pizza stone, preheat it simultaneously.
  2. In a small saucepan, sauté minced garlic in olive oil for 1 minute until fragrant; remove from heat and stir in honey, soy sauce, sriracha, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place flatbreads on a baking sheet, then evenly spread the honey-garlic sauce over each, leaving a small border for the crust.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce on each flatbread, and crumble goat cheese on top if desired.
  5. Evenly distribute your chosen toppings, such as chicken, red onion, and bell peppers, over the cheese on each flatbread.
  6. Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the flatbread edges are golden brown; monitor closely if using a pizza stone.
  7. Carefully remove pizzas from the oven, garnish with fresh chopped cilantro and red pepper flakes if desired, then slice and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra crispy crust, you can pre-bake the flatbreads for a few minutes before adding the sauce and toppings. Adjust the amount of sriracha and red pepper flakes to your preferred level of heat. If you don't have cooked chicken, you can quickly sauté some diced chicken breast before adding it to the pizza.
