  • 0.5 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 0.25 cup Brown Sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground

  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons Water or as needed for consistency

Equipment

  • Medium saucepan

Method

Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together all the ingredients for the sauce: yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  3. If a thicker sauce is desired, simmer for 5-10 minutes to reduce slightly, adding water if it becomes too thick.
  4. Taste the sauce and adjust seasonings; add more brown sugar for sweetness, vinegar for tang, cayenne for heat, and salt to taste.
  5. Remove from heat, allow the sauce to cool completely, then transfer to an airtight container. The flavor will deepen as it cools.

Notes

This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks. It tastes even better the next day after the flavors have had time to meld. Feel free to adjust the amount of brown sugar and cayenne pepper to suit your preference for sweetness and heat.
