  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined fresh or frozen, thawed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 lemon, for fresh juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons butter
  • Pinch red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Method
 

Preparation
  1. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely, then pat them dry and season with salt and pepper.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with olive oil.
  2. Add minced garlic (and red pepper flakes if using) to the hot oil and cook for approximately 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the seasoned shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque, cooking in batches if needed.
  4. Remove the skillet from heat, then add butter and lemon juice, stirring to coat the shrimp.
  5. Stir in fresh chopped parsley, adjust seasoning as desired, and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the shrimp for 15-30 minutes before cooking. Serve with your favorite pasta, rice, or a side salad.
