Cooking Steps
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet and brown the ground beef, breaking it apart, then drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and cook until softened, then stir in minced garlic until fragrant.
- Pour in diced tomatoes and beef broth, then stir in salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, then add uncooked pasta and stir well.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 12-15 minutes until pasta is tender and liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and, if desired, sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese, covering until melted.
- Serve hot, with optional fresh parsley or basil garnish.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the Italian seasoning. You can also customize by adding other vegetables like bell peppers or spinach during the last few minutes of cooking.
