  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, then drain any excess grease.
  2. Add chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for one additional minute.
  3. Pour in diced tomatoes and beef broth, then add Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes.
  4. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture and cover for 2-3 minutes until melted and bubbly.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.

Notes

This recipe is easily adaptable. Feel free to add other vegetables like corn or peas, or adjust the seasonings to your preference. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the Italian seasoning.
