Bake
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the rolled oats, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, maple syrup, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, until golden brown and set; a knife inserted should come out mostly clean.
- Remove from oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving to allow it to set.
Notes
For a thicker bake, use an 8x8 inch dish instead of 9x13 inch. Adjust maple syrup or honey to your preferred level of sweetness.
