Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Stir in the diced onion, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the breadcrumbs and let them absorb the liquid.
- Add the ground beef and gently combine all ingredients without overmixing.
- Transfer the mixture to the pan, pressing gently, or shape into a loaf.
Glaze and Baking
- In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar for the glaze and spread half of it over the meatloaf.
- Bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove, spread remaining glaze, and bake for another 15-20 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Resting and Serving
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For best texture, avoid overmixing the meatloaf mixture. Letting it rest before slicing helps retain moisture and makes it easier to cut.
