  • 1 ball fresh pizza dough
Sauce & Cheese
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Vegetables
  • 1/4 cup sliced red onion
  • 1/4 cup sliced bell peppers mixed colors
  • 1/4 cup sliced zucchini
  • 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/4 cup black olives sliced
Seasoning & Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 450-500°F (230-260°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
  2. Slice all vegetables: red onion, bell peppers, zucchini, halve cherry tomatoes, and slice black olives.
Assemble Pizza
  1. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and transfer to parchment paper or a floured pizza peel.
  2. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  3. Sprinkle 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then arrange the vegetables over the cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese over the vegetables.
  5. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the toppings and crust, then season with salt and pepper.
Bake & Serve
  1. Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven.
  2. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until the crust is golden, cheese is bubbly, and vegetables are tender with charred edges.
  3. Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute or two, then garnish with fresh basil if desired before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, ensure your oven and pizza stone/baking sheet are thoroughly preheated. Feel free to customize the vegetables based on what's in season or your preferences. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes can add a nice kick!
