Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5-2 pounds Salmon Fillets skin on or off
  • Olive Oil A good quality extra virgin olive oil for drizzling and cooking.
  • 1 Lemon both for zest and juice
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder or 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Dill or 2 tablespoons fresh, finely chopped.
  • Salt To taste.
  • Black Pepper To taste.
  • Fresh parsley or chives chopped (Optional for serving).

Equipment

  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Small Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Skillet
  • Paper Towels

Method

Preparation
  1. If baking, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper; if pan-searing, prepare your skillet over medium-high heat.
Seasoning
  1. Pat salmon fillets dry, then whisk together olive oil, lemon zest and juice, garlic powder, dried dill, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Brush or rub the mixture over the salmon fillets.
Cooking (Choose a Method)
  1. For oven-baking, cook salmon for 12-18 minutes until opaque and easily flaked.
  2. For pan-searing, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet and cook salmon for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Serving
  1. Remove salmon from heat, let it rest for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired before serving.

Notes

The cooking times are estimates and may vary based on the thickness of your salmon fillets and your oven or stove. Always ensure the salmon is cooked through to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C). Adjust seasoning to your personal preference, adding more or less salt, pepper, or dill as desired.
