- Pat chicken dry and season with salt and pepper. If using breasts, slice into thinner cutlets.
- Whisk together honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch with water or broth until smooth.
- Sear chicken in olive oil for 4-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (165°F/74°C). Cook in batches if necessary.
- Remove chicken, reduce heat to medium-low, and pour in the sauce. Simmer, stirring constantly, for 2-3 minutes until thickened and glossy.
- Return chicken to the pan, coat thoroughly in sauce, and simmer for 1-2 minutes to warm through.
- Transfer chicken and sauce to a platter, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions if desired, and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in a little soy sauce and garlic for 30 minutes before cooking. Adjust the amount of garlic and honey to your taste. Serve with rice and a steamed vegetable for a complete meal.
