Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries firm and bright red
  • 8 oz full-fat cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional garnishes
  • chocolate shavings
  • cocoa powder
  • fresh mint leaves

Equipment

  • small paring knife or strawberry huller
  • medium bowl
  • piping bag with star tip or Ziploc bag
  • platter

Method

Preparation
  1. Gently wash and thoroughly dry the strawberries. Remove the green tops and core each strawberry using a paring knife or huller.
  2. Cut each strawberry in half lengthwise, preparing them for the filling.
Making the Filling
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy, ensuring no lumps remain.
Assembling the Strawberries
  1. Transfer the cream cheese mixture into a piping bag with a star tip (or a Ziploc bag with a snipped corner). Pipe a dollop of the filling into the hollowed-out center of each strawberry half; a small spoon can also be used.
  2. Optionally, garnish the strawberries with cocoa powder, mini chocolate chips, or a mint leaf for an elegant touch.
Chilling and Serving
  1. Arrange the deviled strawberries on a platter and chill in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes before serving, allowing the filling to set and keeping them cool.

Notes

For best results, use firm, ripe strawberries. The chilling step is crucial for the filling to set properly and enhances the refreshing quality of this dessert.
