Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Assembly
- Unroll the crescent dough onto the prepared baking sheet, pressing the seams together to form a large rectangle.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough, then scatter the chopped cranberries on top.
- Starting from a long side, carefully roll the dough into a log.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 12 equal slices, about 1 inch thick.
Baking and Serving
- Place the sliced bites cut-side up on the baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
- Let them cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack, then dust with powdered sugar if desired before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of orange zest to the cream cheese mixture. If using frozen cranberries, there's no need to thaw them beforehand.
