  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
Optional Seasonings
  • black pepper a pinch
  • garlic powder a pinch
  • cinnamon a pinch

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Medium Bowl
  • Vegetable Peeler

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch cubes or fries, ensuring consistent sizing for even cooking.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss the sweet potato pieces with olive oil, salt, and any optional seasonings until they are lightly coated.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes if it has a preheat function.
  2. Arrange the seasoned sweet potato pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket; cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
  3. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12-18 minutes, shaking the basket every 5-7 minutes, until tender and crispy.
  4. Check for doneness by piercing with a fork; they should be tender on the inside and slightly caramelized on the outside.
Serving
  1. Transfer the cooked sweet potatoes to a serving dish and enjoy them immediately while warm.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the sweet potatoes are thoroughly dry before adding oil and seasonings. You can also experiment with different spice blends like paprika, chili powder, or rosemary to customize the flavor. Avoid overfilling the air fryer basket to achieve the best results.
