  • ¼ cup Unsalted Butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Chocolate Coating
  • 12 ounces Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1-2 teaspoons Coconut Oil
  • Flaky Sea Salt optional

Method
 

Peanut Butter Heart Preparation
  1. Combine peanut butter, powdered sugar, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a bowl, mixing until smooth and firm.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then form the peanut butter mixture into heart shapes; a cookie cutter can be used for uniformity.
  3. Place the shaped hearts on the baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
Chocolate Coating Application
  1. Melt semi-sweet chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  2. Dip each chilled peanut butter heart into the melted chocolate, ensuring full coverage, then tap off any excess chocolate.
  3. Immediately sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each chocolate-dipped heart.
  4. Return the baking sheet to the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is completely set.

Notes

For perfectly uniform hearts, use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter when shaping the peanut butter mixture. Ensure the hearts are thoroughly chilled before dipping to prevent them from falling apart. The coconut oil helps achieve a smooth, glossy chocolate coating that sets well, and the flaky sea salt adds a delightful contrast to the sweetness.
