Ingredients

Chicken
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
Alfredo Sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese freshly grated is best!
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Bread Bowls & Garlic Butter
  • 4-6 round bread rolls sourdough or Italian bread works wonderfully
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted for garlic butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced for garlic butter
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped optional, for garlic butter
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Small bowl
  • Baking sheet

Method

Prepare Chicken
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season diced chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside.
Make Alfredo Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat, then add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
Finish Sauce
  1. Reduce heat to low, gradually stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth, adding more cream if needed.
  2. Stir the cooked chicken into the Alfredo sauce and keep warm.
Prepare Bread Bowls
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut a circle around the top of each bread roll and gently hollow out the center.
  2. Save the scooped-out bread for dipping.
Make Garlic Butter
  1. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley (if using).
  2. Brush the inside and outside of each hollowed bread roll generously with the garlic butter.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spoon the Chicken Alfredo mixture into each garlic bread bowl and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Bake
  1. Place filled bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and bread is golden.
Serve
  1. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can toast the scooped-out bread pieces and serve them alongside for dipping. If your Alfredo sauce becomes too thick, whisk in a tablespoon of milk or chicken broth at a time until desired consistency is reached.
